Autropupuran, a novel non-alkaloidal diterpene was isolated from the roots of A. hemsleyanum var. atropurpureum by Prof. Wang in 2009. Since the isolation, the unprecedented complex structure possessing fused spiro-[2,2,2] and -[2,1,1] ring system has attracted intensive attention of synthetic chemists worldwide. This Abstract reports our recent advances on the total synthesis of racemic autropupuran via Diels-Alder reaction and radical addition reaction as key steps to assemble the core structure. 继续了解
