Engaged in plant physiology, molecular biology, plant biotechnology research with extensive experience in leading and participating in national and international research programs
Developed a variety of plant regeneration and transformation systems
Generated a number of GM lines of fruit trees or ornamentals with improved traits such as reduced plant size, increased adventitious rooting and early flowering as well as disease resistance.
Focused on improving oil qualities and quantities of oil crops both for food use and for producing industrial oils with significant progress

Professional Activities:
A large international research network
Over 50 postdoc PhD and Master students supervised
Over 80 scientific articles published
