Title: Ph.D., Distinguished Professor of Entomology
Tong-Xian Liu, or ‘T.-X.’ as called by his friends and colleagues, obtained his BS degree in plant protection from Shandong Agricultural University in China, MS degree in entomology from Virginia Tech at Blacksburg, Virginia, and PhD in entomology from University of Georgia at Athens. He spent four years as a post-doc in University of Florida. He joined Texas A&M in 1997 as an Assistant Professor working on vegetable IPM, and promoted to Associate Professor in 2001 and Full Professor in 2005. He was offered a national distinguished professorship by the Chinese government in 2009.
